Australian Songwriters Association
National Awards Night:
Organised on a strict budget for this
non-profit organisation, a sensational evening was achieved.
The stylishly revamped surrounds of the Gaelic Club
in Sydney, were highlighted by a myriad candles and
crisp damask tablecloths decorated with the modern look
of loose flowers.
Against this glamorous background, the
crème of Australia's songwriters performed their
winning compositions on a large stage with top-class
sound. The excitement also ran to the food, which embraced
a popular Asian theme that included sushi, rice-paper
rolls and crisp Vietnamese bread with exotic fillings.
Drinks flowed, and sweet desserts were a delectable
inclusion.
In tune with the youth emerging from the ranks of talented
songwriters, an 'edgy' young comedienne provided entertainment.
An audio-visual display and a professional MC conducting
table games, kept guests on their toes. Music industry
VIPs were sourced as Presenters, and songwriting icon
Buzz Bidstrup was interviewed as Special Guest.
The lineup, printed programs, equipment
hire, advertising and ticketing were included in A
Red Letter Day's preparation of this event.

Wedding of Mr and Mrs L & L Terry:
In planning this exquisite event, A
Red Letter Day worked with the bride's passion for
the delicious softness and fashionability of feathers,
and a beautiful, sensual theme emerged. It began with
a tall 'Moulin Rouge' style, white ostrich feather headpiece
for the bride, and glorious felt hats boarded with speckled
osprey for the bridesmaids.
Guests were given a clue to the feel of the day with
small clusters of white feathers adorning the pews.
The flowers were tied with mini boas, and the cake was
topped with more ostrich feathers - leaving some guests,
when scanning the reception hall for the bride, heading
off in the direction of the cake!
Transport for the bridal party and 180 guests from church
to
reception to after-party, ice-carvings, scrumptious
catering,
a harbour-side venue and unique musical entertainment
were also organised by A Red Letter Day.

Akro-pac Pty Ltd Christmas Party,
December 2002:
This event packed a punch with the theme
of an English snowscape. A snow machine was utilised
to create a memorable entry and exit of guests. Once
inside, mini Christmas dinners made the most delightful
cocktail food, and much fun came from the drinks that
included (amongst more conventional favorites) Hot Toddies
and cognac served in huge. brandy balloons.
Dry ice was employed to sizzle and steam prior to the
speeches. Silver trees, sales packages in chrome boxes
and beautifully wrapped gifts topped off an immensely
stylish function.
